Here’s What You Must Pack Before Heading to Swim Camp
Last week, we talked about how many different kinds of swim camps you can choose from this summer, and there are plenty! That’s great because it means there’s something for everyone out there. If you’ve found the right Fusion Swim Camp that fits your needs and have already signed up, the next step is to start getting ready!
For those who have registered, you’ll be getting a confirmation packet with all the necessary information to make the upcoming camp productive and fun. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t start to figure out what you need to bring in order for that to happen. Each swim camp is subject to vary, but here’s what campers will typically have to pack and bring with them:
- Health form (this is mandatory for your participation!)
- Leisure activity clothes
- Swim suit
- Swim cap
- Athletic socks
- Running shoes
- Flip flops
- Key deposit check
- Spending money (we recommend no more than $50)
If you’re joining us for one of our overnight camps, add the following items to your packing list, as well:
- Sweatshirt
- Off-field clothes
- Pajamas
- Bedding linens
- Blanket/Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Shower towel
- Toiletries
- Alarm clock (which is probably your phone, so a phone charger, too!)
- Small fan
These all seem pretty basic, but it’s very important to us that you have everything needed for camp. Why? Well, we pride ourselves on providing campers the opportunity to make improvements in a fun and safe environment that’s comfortable. And, you’ll be the most comfortable when you don’t forget anything!
Once you pack up and head to camp, check-in time could vary depending on the type of camp you’ve registered for. Again, all this information will be communicated in a confirmation packet with plenty of time before camp even starts, but here are some normal check-in times to plan for:
Overnight campers: 12-1pm
Extended Day/Day campers: 1pm
After all those details are taken care of, it’s time to meet your goals! Campers will initially be grouped based off ability, experience, age and camp composition so it’s as useful as possible for everyone in attendance. Instruction is centered on conditioning components, as our staff wants campers to train at a competitive speed and be continually challenged.
We bring in top swim coaches each year with a focus on unlocking their full potential, while connecting with peers and having fun in the process! We know how frustrating it can be sometimes when you forget something that you really need for camp, which is why we wanted to give you the above list to reference before you hop in the car to join us!
